Amia chair by E-ggs for Miniforms

Dezeen Showroom: a playful silhouette is combined with boldly patterned textiles in this fully upholstered chair from Italian brand Miniforms and design studio E-ggs.

The Amia chair has a characterful shape combining thick, flat elements and rounded ends, all swaddled in ultra-soft foam. The result is an invitingly tactile seat.

Miniforms describes it as a chair "conceived like a sofa" because of its feeling of comfort and its concern with structural elasticity, created through the layering of different densities of foam.

It is also intended to have a bold charm, with the angle of its legs creating a distinctive, gently squared backrest. Optional armrests made from solid ash add further contrast.

"In Amia, a piquant personality shines through the upholstery, expressed in swift, defined lines, softened by rounded joints," said Miniforms.

The Amia chair is available in a choice of 28 textile options, including options from Maharam and Dedar. The optional ash armrests can be ordered in natural or black.
