Dezeen Showroom: artwork by designer Jaime Hayon forms the basis of Nanimarquina's Talk Talk rugs, which feature abstract faces in profile.
Bringing a sense of postmodern wit to interiors, Talk Talk is the fifth rug collection from Hayon and Spanish brand Nanimarquina but the first where the artwork is the rug, rather than being on the rug.
"Talk Talk is a collection born from the work of the artist Jaime Hayon, where the relationship between art and design is explored through his iconic faces, as playful as they are expressive," said Nanimarquina.
There are two different designs of the Talk Talk rug – one facing left and one facing right, each with its own simplified but idiosyncratic, bean-like shape.
The rugs are designed to be used either on their own or in multiples, where they form fun compositions wherein they look towards one another.
Hand-tufted from New Zealand wool, the Talk Talk rugs are available in three colours that readily complement a modern eclectic interior – Brick red, Blueish Green or Mustard.
