SHINING PORCELAIN TAKES CENTER STAGE AT THE TABLE

Milan-based Habits Design sets the table, looking into technology, design, and gastronomy through an interactive luminous tableware collection named Light Bites that transforms traditional dining into an ever-evolving narrative. Embedded with hidden sensors, the tableware becomes a dynamic participant at the table, enabling light, color, and intensity to respond in real time to food, composition, and human movement. Like a synchronized performance, turning each dish into a miniature installation that shapes a deeply multisensory, contemplative experience.

NEW SENSOY LANGUAGE FOR DINING POWERED BY LIGHTing tableware

Founded in Milan in 2004 by Innocenzo Rifino and Diego Rossi, Habits is a multidisciplinary industrial design studio blending home appliances, industrial equipment, lighting, and digital products to explore how physical objects shape human interaction. With Light Bites, the studio transforms light into an ingredient that introduces a new dimension to taste. The project shapes the visual perception of flavor to establish a new sensory language for intimate dinners, using interactive illumination to deepen human connection at the table.

LIGHT BITES SMART TABLEWARE ENRICHES HUMAN SENSES AT THE TABLE

The dining experience unfolds as a sensory journey where gastronomy, design, and technology interplay into a contemporary ritual. Every touch and gesture triggers an immediate visual response, turning the act of eating into an atmospheric dialogue. Dynamic light patterns and glowing gradients sharpen the senses, connecting perception, movement, and flavor.

Behind this sensory sphere lies Light Bites, a forward-looking collection crafted with Dehua white porcelain.  Known for its soft ivory-white tone and luminous glaze, the material becomes a natural canvas for interactive light. Through the Light Bites collection, Habits transforms dining into an evolving art experience, establishing an engaging food culture that enriches human connection at the table.
