This week on Dezeen, we reported on the demolition of a never-opened concert hall by Studio Fuksas, which is now underway in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Footage shared by local news organisation TV Pirveli captured scale-like cladding being removed from the tube-shaped Rike Concert Hall, which has sat unopened since 2012.
Demolition commenced less than two weeks after a permit for the works was issued. Studio Fuksas told Dezeen the plans were "a significant cultural setback".
Another ill-fated building to hit the headlines again was the fire-torn Mackintosh Building at Glasgow School of Art, after a campaign to save it was initiated by local architect Ruairidh Moir.
The petition asks for an independent body to take on the rebuild, after the school said it could not afford to take the project forward. It also calls on the Scottish and UK governments for financial assistance.
At the time of writing, it has 8,972 signatures. The target is 100,000, at which point it will be "hand-delivered" to both Scottish and UK Governments.
