Design studio Kaschkasch has developed a bathroom range informed by the imperfect shape of morning dewdrops, showcased in this video produced by Dezeen for Villeroy & Boch.
Called Antao, the collection draws inspiration from Kaschkasch founders Florian Kallus and Sebastian Schneider's early-morning walks through the forest.
The Antao collection was informed by morning dewdrops
Kallus and Schneider began their design process by photographing dewdrops and sketching organic forms inspired by their magnified shapes.
This led to the first piece in the collection – an asymmetric, surface-mounted ceramic washbasin, which became the starting point for the rest of the range.
Kallus and Schneider also designed a series of taps, baths, mirrors and bathroom furniture, all similarly defined by smooth, curving organic forms.
In addition to the use of ceramics, the collection is unified by a muted, nature-inspired colour palette, including Almond, Stone White and the newly launched shade Morning Green.
"Morning Green is an earthy, desaturated shade that the eyes can rest on – nothing like the notorious moss green from the seventies," said Schneider.
In addition to ceramics, Kallus and Schneider incorporated materials such as wood and stone to further emphasise the organic character of the collection.
The designers crafted the collection to foster a peaceful, balanced environment, allowing users to mix and match pieces to curate their ideal space.
The collaboration marks the latest in a series of partnerships from ceramics brand Villeroy & Boch, who have previously teamed up with designers like Mary Katrantzou and Christian Haas.
Founded in 1748, the German ceramics brand have become renowned for its bathroom and wellness product designs.
