SpY’s kinetic installation suspends rotating gold and silver halos inside florence atrium

spY spins gold and silver halos into a reflective cloud

SpY’s HALOS large-scale installation is composed of a matrix of gold and silver reflective circles, suspended in midair and set in continuous rotation. Located at the heart of a former railway factory in Florence, the work unfolds a continuous choreography of movement and reflection that permeates the space it inhabits with light. As they rotate, the suspended circular forms visually intertwine, generating a constellation of reflections produced through the interaction of light and material.

Overlapping Reflections Shift with Movement Through Space

The vertical architecture of the atrium, organized across three levels, establishes a multiplicity of vantage points from which the installation reveals itself in constantly shifting ways. Through the movement of the audience within the space, visual readings expand, overlap, and multiply, generating a potentially infinite field of forms. In HALOS, Spanish urban artist SpY activates a state of perception in the viewer through the suspension, movement, and reflection of essential geometric elements, articulating a composition that transforms the space into a physical and immersive experience.
